Write to us or come to the house
A first conversation does not need a referral and does not need a reason that sounds official. Send a note through the form below, telephone during business hours, or knock on the front door at the address on this page. Someone who can actually help will reply, usually within one working day.

Questions families ask before the first call
Three questions come up more than any others. The short answers are below, and the referral line will always give the longer one if you prefer to hear it in a voice.
No. Any family in Toronto can call or write to us directly. A referral from a clinic or a settlement worker can help us prepare, but it is never required, and a family without any paperwork at all is just as welcome at the front door.
All six services are free at the point of use. That includes counselling sessions covered by the foundation, grants paid to a sitter or provider, and the meal at a circle evening. We do not ask families to repay anything, and a grant is never recorded as a loan.
Messages sent during business hours are answered within one working day, and urgent notes about the Emergency Family Fund are read the same morning. If a situation is dangerous right now, please contact emergency services first and then write to us, so that we can help with everything that follows.
